Salon Spy: In the comfort of your own home - From Ginger to Blonde Balayage
Sev is a freelance hairdresser trained in Harrods who comes directly to your house to turn your hair nightmare into hair goals…
When people say DIY, they most definitely are not talking about hair… and if they are, they shouldn’t be. However, with that said – it’s not a total write off if you want to do your hair from home, as long as you are leaving your locks in the hands of an expert. Bikini Girls, Vicky met hair expert Sev for a total hair transformation!
The balayage experience
Before and after:
Starting the treatment with LONG, dry and brittle strands I certainly hadn’t given Sev an easy job, however she’d agreed to see me all the same.
I had been inspired by her ‘LookBook’ found on her instagram and requested a blonder, healthier look for the winter months.
She recommended performing balayage on the lengths of my hair whilst darkening the roots. For those who don’t know, Balayage is a method which involves painting the lengths of my hair by hand starting with the underneath levels and adding strands to ensure an even finish. You can see from the photo below the Balayage in progress.
After the dye had developed and been washed off, Sev recommended I apply a Olaplex treatment to help maintain my hairs strength from the damage of colouring and neglected hair care on my behalf (too many straightening treatments).
Even before she cut my hair the Olaplex treatment had made my hair look and feel so much stronger, healthier and shinier.
Sev completely transformed my two-tone bland brown and orange-blonde locks into a perfect blonde balayage with a glossy and expensive-looking finish. There was no breakage and the colour difference was incredible!
After finishing the treatment with a blunt cut she curled my locks into a gorgeous wavy style that stayed put for 2 days – including a fitness shoot – result!
Prices start from £100 with Sev, but a consultation is always required pre-booking to ensure you get the treatment you are after.
