Sydney fashion 2018: The hottest AW18 press days
It’s a new fashion season in Sydney with AW18 fast approaching.
Collections from Uniqlo and other iD Collective brands, The Iconic, Skechers and Dr Martens are sure to keep you dressed to impress throughout the cooler months.
Here is my ultimate fashion summary from recent press days – the latest Bikini Girl style guide for Autumn Winter dressing.
Coolest gym to street staples
This PR agency has the most versatile range of awesome clients on its books; fashion and beyond.
At the AW18 press day, held at their shiny swanky new showroom, I was treated to a preview of the latest technical lightweight outerwear and corduroy miniskirts from UNIQLO’s Downtown range, plus the modern yet timeless x Marimekko collection, as well as a huge variety of cool AF gym-to-street Champion clobber and so much more, by lovely Ally from the agency.
Being a fitness model I’m obsessed with the Champion sportswear for the gym, and the UNIQLO stuff makes for super wearable, stylish and affordable wardrobe updates for the new season.
Date and party outfits sorted
At THE ICONIC, you’ll find the cutest, most extravagant and fashionable streetwear outfits under one umbrella. I loved new pieces from High Street staples MinkPink, Dazie and The East Order the most at the AW18 showing, especially the cute shorts, jumpsuits and mini tea dresses.
In terms of the trends, Colour Synthesis (Infusion) was my favourite – playful, youthful and colourful ‘everyday luxury’ with a vintage vibe and strong pop of tomato red. Yum.
A good tan from summer should keep your limbs tanned for the short lengths and, let’s be honest, most of Australia doesn’t get cold enough to banish these lengths. If it does get chilly, chuck on a Topshop faux fur.
Skechers & Dr Martens
Feet covered forever
Are you like me and wear trainers with all the time? Even with dresses. Even on dates. In winter, a good boot is essential too.
By now you’ll know how veg-forward Dr Martens are with their signature boots now coming in animal-free versions you can barely tell apart from the originals. And for AW18 the big treat is they’re finally opening up in Australia, with their Aussie site going live this Thursday March 1st, along with their first-ever retail store at Westfield Sydney.
Somehow, Skechers blew my socks off even more this season. Almost every shoe was woven and cruelty-free, AND super stylish! For non-leather styles, prices start from less than $100.
Pastel colourways and sleek designs means every girl will be after a pair, including me. If I could only pick a colour…
The latest collection will start to drop in April, however you can still check out the current collection here.
