Halo Top
We’re obsessed with the super tasty and unbelievably light dairy-free ice creams from US brand Halo Top. All-vegan, high-protein and lower-calorie compared to other brands, Halo Top is a great healthy snack alternative to full-cream. Try Peanut Butter Cup (peanut butter ice cream blended with ribbons of silky peanut butter) and Sea Salt Caramel (a lovely balance of sweet and salty with caramel swirls and a touch of sea salt).
The coconut milk-based ice creams have 320 calories per tub and between 4-6g of sugar per serving, so you can eat the whole tub and relax about it. Available from Ocado, Waitrose, Tesco and more for around £5 a tub (multibuy savings available).
Rhythm 108
One of our favourite new healthy snack brands Rhythm 108 creates delicious snacks which are good for you and taste incredible.
Everything they do is gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan (everything except the dessert bars). Our favourite varieties are the ‘Bounty’ coconut and praline flavours of the Ooh-my-Deeeelicious Swiss Chocolate Bars. We also love the chocolate and ginger Ohh-la-la Tea Biscuits made with coconut oil and whole oat flour.
Rhythm 108’s wholesome treats are stocked in over 3,000 locations including Sainsburys, Boots and WH Smith – or you can buy direct from their website – £20 for 15 bars.
Ahh.. YES!
Nestlé have launched wholesome new healthy snack bars called YES!, which are made with fruit and nuts and come in five flavours.
With no added sugar, YES! Fruit Bars are a source of fibre and an easy way to get some fruit into your day. They’re vegan friendly too and come in Delicious Beetroot & Apple (123kcal) and Lively Lemon, Quinoa and Chilli (118kcal).
The Nut Bars on the other hand are made with dark chocolate and contain just 5g sugar. They’re a good source of protein and fibre but are only stated as suitable for vegetarians. Looking on the ingredients list though, everything is vegan!
They’re available in three delicious flavours. Choose from Tempting Dark Choc, Sea Salt & Almond (189kcal), Delightful Coffee, Dark Choc & Cherry (189kcal) and Sumptuous Cranberry & Dark Choc (183kcal).

TREK Cocoa Raisin
There’s a new member of the TREK range and it’s just as good as you imagine…
With 9g protein sourced – great for pre & post exercise, on-the-go, or with a cuppa – we present the gluten-free vegan Cocoa Raisin flavour.
The healthy snack combines a traditional flapjack flavour of sweet, spicy cinnamon and juicy raisins with a tempting layer of cocoa topping. The chocolate protein flapjack also counts as one of your five a day and comes in at £2.50 for 3 bars.
Hippeas Puffs
If you’re looking for light crisps to snack on, we recommend Hippeas (made from chickpeas!). The Organic Chickpea Puffs come in at just 91 calories a pack and contain much more protein and fibre than regular crisps. This makes them the perfect healthy snack swap.
There are five flavours to choose from – plus they’re all certified vegan and gluten free. Hippeas come as a 22g single serve, RRP £0.99, and a 78g sharing bag, RRP £1.99. They are available from Amazon, Asda, Boots, Coop, Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Waitrose and more.
HoU Sweet Hummus
It might sound a bit strange but HOU sweet humous is super delicious, moreish, and on top of that so, so good for you.
The delicious snack has recently been launched as the UK’s first sweet houmous. HOU comes in Choc-o-chic (dark chocolate, coconut milk and chickpeas), Mixed Berry and Banoffee flavours. Each one contains half the saturated fat and calories of spreads such as chocolate, almond and jam, and they’re all vegan and gluten-free.
Our taste test revealed the chocolate is like a textured chocolate mousse, while banoffee is like cheesecake filling. The berry flavour is like a dessert version of a berry smoothie.
Perfect for the health conscious and humous addicts with a sweet tooth, HOU works spread on toast for brekkie or scooped up with fruit slices. Try adding Mixed Berry onto yogurt and granola; spread Banoffee over a bagel or dip strawberries into Choc-o-chick for a dessert. We also love any flavour on healthy, crunchy Leksands crispbreads.
HOU is now available to order online for customers in the UK, as well as in local stocklists. Each pot costs £3 with £1.99 delivery within 2 working days. A minimum of 3 pots to order online.

Cauldron Falafel
Cauldron Falafels make the perfect desk side healthy snack – they’re high-protein, full of flavour and mostly vegan. And they’re fab either hot of cold.
Choose from slightly spicy Moroccan (which contains honey), herby, classic Middle Eastern, or the very interesting Persian variety, which is more aromatic with fragrant fennel and mint.
The Falafels come in at around £1.50 a pack from Ocado, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Morrisons.
Cheeky Monkey Puffs
Another healthy crisps alternative is Cheeky Monkey Peanut Butter Puffs, which come in classic plain or chilli pepper flavours, and are organic, gluten-free, vegan and soya free.
A great source of protein and fibre, the melt-in-your-mouth puffs are baked rather than fried making them lower in fat and calories than other savoury snacks.
