The Best Places For Good Food And All-Day Parties in Seminyak

With so much to do on one tropical island, it’s hard to know where to begin when it comes to Bali.

As Spain is to Brits, Bali is to Aussies – it’s an affordable summer getaway, a reasonable distance from home.

Seminyak is a good place to start if you’re not on a strict budget, plus it’s fairly close to the airport. It’s all beach clubs, day parties, luxury hotels, famous DJs and fine dining – though you can scope out a cheap meal or lodging if you look hard enough.

Here’s what you really need to do when you go to Seminyak:

Go to: Potato Head Beach Club

The main reason people go to Seminyak, even Bali (if you’re a blogger party girl), is Potato Head Beach Club. You can stay nearby for an affordable price and you’ll be right near the centre of Seminyak.

With locations in Jakarta, Bali, Hong Kong & Singapore, Potato Head has earned its reputation as the place to be seen, boasting a private members club vibe within a huge luxury setting.

In Bali, you can put down a deposit of between $100 and $150 AUD for the best seats (beds and cabanas) which you can redeem against items on the drinks and food menu, and there’s usually a wait list. The cocktail list is huge and prepare to pay about $11-16 AUD per drink.

If you’re lucky you can nab excellent seats with no need for a deposit.

There’s a large infinity pool overlooking the Indian Ocean where revellers dip in and out without needing to forfeit their seats. Funky house plays all day into the night. We stayed for about 4-5 hours and only spent about $45. A bargain night out if you ask us (though we did get a couple of drinks bought for us).

Eat at: Clean Canteen

Welcoming, stylish and with a menu to die for, Clean Canteen is the restaurant to dine at in Seminyak. It’s just a short 5 minute walk from Potato Head, and a former Potato Head chef now heads up the menu! This explains why everything they offer is divine – especially the vegan food.

We reviewed some plant-based options and were blown away by the vegan burger’s red bean patty. It was suer filling and kept us going all afternoon thanks to secret addition of some oats for extra sustenance. Horseradish aioli and thousand island (vegan of course) plus pickles, sautéed onions and tomato gave it an extremely satisfying bite.

Our favourite thing about the Poke Quinoa Bowl was the zingy dressing! When drizzled on top it brought out all the flavours of the healthy ingredients within. It was full of edamame, mango, mushrooms, cucumber, cabbage and carrot. This is a top choice if you’re eating very clean.

The Paradise Bowl featured a heavenly berry and coconut flavour combo, perfect for breakfast or dessert thanks to the granola topping.

Hummus makes a good sharer and the beet juice is a good detoxing drink choice. If you’re in the mood for a coconut bigger than your head (always), that’s always an option too. This was definitely our favourite meal in Seminyak. Find Clean Canteen at Jalan Petitenget No 38KX Seminyak, it’s open from 8am until midnight.
