London summer: Fun activities – rain or sun!

Summer in London is an experience like no other, yet the weather remains temperamental. Here’s our guide to making the best of it.

Deni has compiled a list of must-dos this season, whether rain or shine…

RAIN

Impractical Jokers tour

As the hotter months wind down, The ‘Where’s Larry?’ Tour is a perfect choice for an October excursion.

Fans can see Joe, Q, Sal & Murr live as The Tenderloins in 10 must-see shows including at London’s 02 Arena on October 13th.

The funniest show on Earth is coming to the stage in the UK – and tickets are now on sale.

The tour kicks off at the Manchester Arena October 5th. All proceeds from that particular show will go to the WELOVEMANCHESTER fund.

Comedy Central and truTV hits Impractical Jokers are setting up for a 7th season, in which they’ll coerce one another into doing public pranks while being filmed by hidden cameras.

House of Vans

Whether you skate or BMX or not, House of Vans is a cool, cultural hot spot for a rainy day.

It’s perfect for arty types as they often host gigs, film screenings and photography exhibitions, all for free.

There’s also an awesome bar and drinks menu and free skating in the bowl and street sections.

Gordon’s Wine Bar

The vintage setting is what makes Gordon’s the perfect hideaway on stormy summer days.

When the sun breaks through and the rain dies down, you can step outside to the charming courtyard to finish off your bottle – or indeed retreat back inside to cosy splendour if it starts to chuck it down again.

Just a word of warning: be prepared to spend a little more for a good wine.

SHINE

Boating on the Serpentine in Hyde Park

This costs £12 per person for an hour.

You could set up rounders in surrounding Hyde Park and pack a vegan picnic with some gin for the ultimate summer’s day out in London.

A day at Virgin Active Chiswick Riverside

This members-only health club set in stunning leafy Chiswick and has an awesome outdoor pool.

Swim with the sun on your back or relax and get a tan on a sun-lounger. Meanwhile, the indoor areas boast gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside and you can even have an outdoor cycle on the balcony.

Find out about membership options here.

Camping!

With a ton of music festivals on this summer in London, the choice is yours.

I recommend picking up your camping gear from Go Outdoors for the best kit including tents, sleeping bags, bikes and more.

Opt for an award-winning Calibre Bossnut for the best trail ride.
