The Siam Hotel: Tradition meets modern design in Bangkok
A stay at the heavenly Siam hotel is just what you need during an exhausting trip to Thailand’s capital city.
While larger-than-life Bangkok has been voted the best city in the world numerous times it is exhausting, from the hustle and bustle, business, constant buzz and mayhem.
A long weekend away to this destination is not for the faint hearted, unless you know how navigate it, and by that I mean where to stay to let yourself recharge fully.
The Siam Hotel – an urban luxury resort – is a zen sanctuary that offers less noise, less work, and more of what you need as soon as you walk through the door.
Set on the Chao Phraya in the historical district of Bangkok, The Siam offers 5- star accommodation, superb dining and world class spa and wellness services. Inside, the building is gorgeous with art & antiques, also featuring a centrepiece of giant plants that reaches ups three floors.
Guests get treated to towels and juice on arrival, and a private butler / concierge. Of course there’s an official concierge downstairs at reception too and they won’t let you lift a finger.
The hotel rooms are absolutely stunning, black and white monochrome design, tall ceilings and linear interiors, plush beds you’ll sink in to a feel like a Queen right at home. Fresh fruits, nuts and snacks come complimentary as well as posh machine coffee and water.
You even get given your very own private iPhone so you can make international phone calls absolutely complimentary during your stay, which is just incredible.
A private yacht takes you into town from the deck outside at regular times; cruising along the river, perfect for glamming it up on Instagram. You can use your private phone to call the hotel to pick you up later, too.
The next day you can head down for a lush breakfast of freshly cooked hot food from the a la carte menu, with fantastic vegan and gluten-free options, and tuck into gourmet bread and jam and tropical fruit from the stylish buffet, while overlooking the stunning grounds.
If you fancy some authentic exercise, we recommend booking a private 1hr Muai Thai masterclass where you’ll learn everything from correct hooks to high kicks, kitted out in proper silky Thai boxing shorts.
Checking out of the Siam is a sad moment, but we all need to move on some time. It’s an unforgettable experience and a must if you want to experience Bangkok like a pro.
